Former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has taken a formal step toward contesting the 2027 Oyo State governorship election after obtaining the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
Adelabu, who was represented by his aide, Ajiboye Akande, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, assured residents of transformative development if elected governor. He pledged to deliver unprecedented progress across the state.
In a related development, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who represents Oyo South in the National Assembly under the APC, has also picked up the party’s nomination forms. He was accompanied by other party aspirants, including Senator Yusuf Akintunde, seeking to represent Oyo Central, and Remi Oseni, a contender for the Oyo South senatorial ticket.
Meanwhile, a governorship aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Niyi Aborisade, has unveiled his development blueprint for the state ahead of the 2027 elections. He promised what he described as “positive change” driven by practical governance and purposeful leadership.
In a statement, Aborisade emphasized the need for competence and clear vision in leadership, arguing that governance should focus on delivering measurable results rather than relying on political endorsements. He added that his agenda prioritises inclusive growth and effective solutions to the state’s challenges.
