NIMC Issues Vital Guidelines for NIN Self-Service Portal Access

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has released essential guidelines to ensure a secure and seamless experience for users accessing the National Identification Number (NIN) self-service modification portal.

NIMC emphasized that each self-service account is linked to the specific browser and device used during the initial setup. Therefore, users must use the same device and browser to complete any data modification. Using a different setup may result in access problems.

The Commission also cautioned users against clearing their browser cache, as this could reset the session and potentially lock them out of their accounts. If this occurs, a manual unlinking process will be required to restore access.

Additionally, locked accounts are given only five chances to unlock. Once this limit is reached, no further attempts will be accepted. NIMC explained that these measures are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance data security and protect user identities on the platform.

The Commission urged all users to strictly adhere to the outlined procedures to prevent service delays or interruptions, while reaffirming its dedication to safeguarding personal data and improving service efficiency.
