Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy, an accolade under the Ballon d’Or umbrella that honours the best female goalkeeper in the world. This nomination comes on the heels of a remarkable year for the 24-year-old shot-stopper, who has consistently delivered world-class performances at both club and international levels.

Nnadozie recently completed a high-profile transfer to Brighton Women FC following a successful stint with Paris FC. Her defining moment came during the final of the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine, where she played a crucial role in Paris FC’s dramatic penalty shootout victory over Paris Saint-Germain. The win marked the club’s first major trophy in almost 20 years, with Nnadozie’s saves proving pivotal to the outcome.

On the international stage, she was equally impressive during the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Her commanding presence in goal helped Nigeria clinch their 10th continental title, defeating host nation Morocco in the final. Nnadozie’s performances earned her both the Best Goalkeeper award and a place in the Team of the Tournament, cementing her reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in the world.

She now finds herself among an elite group of nominees for the Yachine Trophy, including Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC), Cata Coll (Barcelona Femeni), Hannah Hampton (Chelsea Women), and Daphne van Domselaar (Arsenal Women). Nnadozie’s nomination underscores her rising global profile and the growing recognition of African talent in women’s football.
