Human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe, has strongly criticized a recent ruling by the Federal High Court of Canada, which labeled Nigeria’s two major political parties—the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—as terrorist organizations. Joe expressed his disapproval in a statement made available to reporters in Warri, Delta State.

Joe stated that while many Nigerians may be dissatisfied with how these parties have operated over the years, branding all members as terrorists is an unfair and damaging generalization. He emphasized that not every member of the APC or PDP should be painted with the same brush, regardless of the parties’ troubled histories.

According to the activist, such a declaration reflects poorly on Nigeria’s global reputation and further portrays the country as one still struggling to attain credible and visionary leadership. He described the ruling as a blow to the nation’s international image and democratic development.

Joe also warned Nigerian politicians that more embarrassing consequences could follow if urgent reforms are not made. He urged leaders and party members to embrace patriotism as a foundational value, noting that the future of both the country and their own families may depend on a shift toward accountability and national service.
