The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has called for calm, courtesy, and professionalism from both passengers and aviation personnel in light of recent in-flight altercations that have sparked public concern.

This appeal comes after two widely publicized incidents — the first involving Fuji music icon, KWAM 1, and the more recent altercation on an Ibom Air flight involving a passenger identified as Comfort Emmanson, now humorously nicknamed “KWAM 2” on social media.

In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, FAAN emphasized that violence is never a solution and urged travelers to channel their grievances appropriately. “Stay calm, Stay Safe: No matter the situation, violence is never the answer. If you have a concern, visit the FAAN Customer Service Desk to lodge a formal complaint — your issue will be addressed promptly and professionally,” the Authority stated.

FAAN also reminded aviation professionals — including pilots and cabin crew — of their responsibility to uphold safety, trust, and professional conduct. “Safety and Service First: Pilots and aviation staff are reminded to prioritise passenger safety, operational excellence, and clear communication at all times,” it said. The Authority further encouraged cabin crew to maintain composure and courtesy even in stressful situations, noting that regular training will help ensure smooth and conflict-free flights.

Reaffirming its commitment, FAAN assured the public that passenger safety, security, and comfort remain its highest priorities at all Nigerian airports.
