Two E-hailing Drivers Shot and Assaulted in KwaDabeka

KwaDabeka, KwaZulu-Natal,  27 August 2025
Two e-hailing drivers were left injured following a violent attack in KwaDabeka, near Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. The drivers were reportedly shot and assaulted, allegedly by local taxi operators.

The provincial Department of Transport has confirmed the incident. According to the KwaZulu-Natal e-Hailing Council, one of the vehicles belonging to an e-hailing driver also came under gunfire during the attack.

The council has condemned the violence and urged police to take swift action to ensure the safety of drivers operating in the province.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any arrests have been made.
