PDP to Inaugurate 2025 National Convention Organising Committee on  September 2

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to inaugurate its 2025 National Convention Organising Committee on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The development follows the approval of the party’s National Executive Committee, according to a statement released on Thursday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.

The inauguration ceremony will be held at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, by 12 noon. The committee, made up of 110 members, will oversee preparations for the forthcoming national convention. Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has been appointed as the Chairman of the committee, while Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, will serve as Vice Chairman. Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has been named as the Secretary.

According to the statement, the committee is expected to work towards ensuring a smooth and successful convention. The PDP described the appointments as a strategic step to strengthen internal structures ahead of its major political gathering later in the year.

The party’s National Working Committee further called on PDP leaders, stakeholders, and members across the country to remain united and focused. It emphasized that collective effort and cooperation will be key to the success of the PDP’s 2025 Elective National Convention, scheduled to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, from November 15 to 16, 2025.
