Veteran entertainer and social commentator, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has berated activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, over his recent allegations against former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Adeyanju had alleged that Obi attempted to bribe him during the 2023 presidential election campaign, claiming the Labour Party candidate invited him for a meeting and later offered him money in a brown envelope, which he rejected.

Reacting on his X handle, Charly Boy dismissed the claims as baseless and accused Adeyanju of making false statements to gain attention. He described the activist as someone who could easily “sell himself for 30 pieces of silver.”

The outspoken entertainer further cautioned Adeyanju against dragging Obi’s name through the mud, insisting that Obi remains one of the few politicians still giving Nigerians hope for a better country.

In a strongly-worded post written in Pidgin English, Charly Boy accused Adeyanju of chasing clout and working for “paymasters” through what he termed as “reckless and irresponsible behavior,” warning that such actions could land him in legal trouble.
