A former Commissioner in Abia State, Barrister Eze Iyierioba Chikamnayo, has formally petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) against Governor Alex Otti over the alleged mismanagement of N54 billion earmarked for school renovation projects in the state.

Chikamnayo made the disclosure on Tuesday while addressing journalists in Abuja. He accused the current administration of failing to account for the funds, which he claimed were specifically allocated to revamp dilapidated schools across Abia.

According to him, the scale of the alleged financial mismanagement raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability under Otti’s government. He urged the anti-graft agencies to launch a thorough investigation to ensure that public resources are used for the benefit of citizens.

As of press time, the Abia State Government has not issued an official response to the allegations.
