The newly created Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASA) has projected ₦1.5 billion in revenue between September and December 2025.

The Director-General, Kabiru Dakata, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing journalists on the agency’s operations. He said the agency has also set targets of ₦3 billion for 2026 and ₦5 billion for 2027, stressing that strategies have been put in place to achieve these goals.

Dakata noted that beyond revenue generation, the agency was established to sanitise outdoor advertising and ensure alignment with global best practices.

“KASA was established in April 2025 by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to regulate outdoor advertisements. We are ready to begin full operations, combining enforcement with revenue collection,” he explained.

He added that violations of the agency’s guidelines would attract penalties, including one-month imprisonment, three months of community service, or fines.

According to him, the agency’s mandate covers billboards, branded vehicles, posters, tricycles, delivery riders, roadshows, and advertisements displayed on shops or private premises. It will also determine the number, size, and location of signage, remove abandoned billboards that pose risks, and curb vulgar or culturally insensitive advertisements.

Dakata further revealed that KASA is collaborating with other outdoor advertising agencies to prevent duplication of work and ensure compliance with the law.
