Three Killed in N4 Head-On Collision in Mpumalanga

Three people lost their lives in a head-on collision between a vehicle and a truck on the N4 toll road between Matsulu and Mbombela, Mpumalanga, early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred just before 6:00 near the Gorge. Emergency services confirmed that the three victims were declared dead at the scene. One other occupant sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, while the truck driver escaped unharmed.

Provincial Department of Community Safety and Liaison spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, has urged motorists to exercise caution, especially on major routes.

“The cause of the crash is still under investigation,” Mmusi said.

Authorities have appealed to road users to remain vigilant and adhere to safety regulations to curb the rising number of fatalities on Mpumalanga’s roads.
