The Abia Radio/TV Executives (ARTEX) have paid a condolence visit to Zik FM following the death of the station’s manager, Mrs. Ozioma Okereke.

Speaking on behalf of ARTEX delegation, Mr Bright Eiike described the late Okereke as “a professional, and a voice of wisdom”, noting that her passing was a painful loss not only to Zik FM but to the entire broadcast family in Abia State.

“Our body has lost one of its finests, and we feel the weight of this tragedy alongside you. We pray that God grants her eternal rest and gives you the strength to carry on her legacy of dedication and excellence,” he said.

Responding, Mr. Chidi Asonye who spoke on behalf of Zik FM, thanked ARTEX for the solidarity, describing Mrs. Okereke as “a pillar of the station whose absence has created a vacuum difficult to fill.”

“We are deeply touched by this show of love and solidarity. Mrs. Ozioma was a true leader who guided this team with patience and vision. Her absence has left a void that cannot easily be filled.

She gave her all to Zik FM, and much of what this station has become today bears her imprint. The staff, the listeners, and the entire broadcasting community will continue to feel her impact for years to come.

We appreciate Abia Radio/TV Executives for standing with us at this time. Your presence here gives us courage to keep her dreams alive and to continue the work she was so passionate about,” he said.

The visit ended with prayers for the repose of her soul and comfort for her family and colleagues.

Beyond the condolence visit, ARTEX pledged to work closely with Zik FM in the coming months to honor Mrs. Okereke’s memory, stressing that her contributions to the industry would continue to inspire broadcasters across the state.
