Troops of the 3 Division/Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested two notorious cattle rustlers and recovered arms and ammunition in Plateau State.

The spokesperson for the Task Force, Major Samson Zhakom, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, noting that the operation took place on September 11, 2025, in Kogul Village, Mangu Local Government Area.

According to him, the breakthrough followed an intelligence-led raid on the suspects’ hideout, where troops apprehended the rustlers and seized one AK-47 rifle, a magazine, a fabricated revolver rifle, ten rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, a mobile phone, and cash.

Zhakom disclosed that the suspects and recovered items are currently in custody for further investigation, while follow-up operations are ongoing to track down other members of the criminal group.

He described the arrest as a major step in addressing the root causes of conflict in the area, reaffirming the troops’ commitment to restoring peace and security across the Joint Operations Area.
