Two brothers have been abducted by armed men while working on their cassava farm in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident, which occurred Wednesday night in Bokungi Zambufu community, Lafiagi, threw residents into panic. Eyewitnesses said the gunmen, about four in number and heavily armed, invaded the farm, shooting sporadically before whisking away the victims to an undisclosed location.

A local source revealed that no contact has yet been made with the victims’ families for ransom. However, security operatives were seen with two arrested suspects, though it remains unclear if they are linked to the abduction.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Government has cautioned residents of Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Oke Ero, and Irepodun Local Government Areas to remain vigilant and restrict unnecessary outdoor movements as security agencies intensify operations against kidnappers, particularly around border communities with Kogi State.
