The Executive Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Dr. Caleb Onyema Ani, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity and collective responsibility as the nation marks its 65th Independence Anniversary.

In his goodwill message, Ani congratulated Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and the people of the state, describing the milestone as a time to reflect on Nigeria’s journey and celebrate its resilience.

He commended Governor Mbah’s “purposeful and visionary leadership,” which he said is steering Enugu towards progress despite economic challenges. Ani stressed that the anniversary was not only a celebration of freedom won in 1960 but also a reminder of the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers.

“This rare milestone calls us to recommit to unity, peace, and progress,” Ani said. “We must honour the courage of our heroes by building a prosperous future for generations to come.”
