Abia Government Orders Mechanics, Spare Parts Dealers to Relocate by October 15

The Abia State Government has directed all mechanics and auto spare parts dealers operating along School/Clifford Road, Hospital Road, Jubilee Road, and Azikiwe Road in Aba North, Aba South, and Obingwa Local Government Areas to relocate to the Ovom Industrial Mechanic Cluster, Ogbor Hill, on or before October 15, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), the government reminded traders that the one-year grace period earlier granted at their request, expired in May 2025.

The relocation, the statement noted, is part of the government’s efforts to decongest Aba metropolis and promote a safer, cleaner, and more business-friendly environment.

Dealers were urged to comply with the directive before the deadline, as enforcement will begin immediately after the expiration date.
