The Abia Smart School Teachers Training Initiative, launched by Governor Alex C. Otti through the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), concluded in grand style on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, with a vibrant closing ceremony held at the Wonderland Event Centre, Ishi Court, Umuahia.

Organised in collaboration with Blue Giraffe Development Limited, the three-week programme aimed to revolutionise teaching in Abia State through digital learning and 21st-century classroom practices. More than 100 teachers from across the state participated in intensive training sessions on smart classroom management, blended learning, and digital pedagogy.

At the colourful finale, participants showcased their newly acquired skills through creative presentations, including songs, drama, and classroom demonstrations that highlighted the concept of “Smart Teaching.” They described digital learning as a powerful tool that enhances interactivity, simplifies complex concepts, and makes learning more engaging.

The teachers lauded Governor Otti for his visionary commitment to transforming education in Abia State and appreciated the contributions of the Commissioner for Education, Elder Goodluck Chinedu Ubochi; Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Uchechukwu Kalu; and ASUBEB Chairperson, Mrs. Lydia Ezinne, for their support in ensuring the programme’s success.
