Four Nigerians and their accomplices have been sentenced to a total of 55 years in prison in the United Kingdom for their involvement in a string of violent mobile phone store robberies across London. The group, described by authorities as a coordinated criminal gang, targeted high-end phone retailers, stealing expensive devices and leaving victims traumatised.

According to UK prosecutors, the gang’s operations spanned several months, during which they used force and intimidation to overpower staff and customers. Their brazen attacks often took place in broad daylight, drawing public outrage and prompting a swift investigation by the Metropolitan Police. Surveillance footage and forensic evidence were instrumental in linking the culprits to multiple crime scenes.

Investigators revealed that the syndicate operated with a high level of organisation, selling stolen phones through black market networks and overseas channels. Detectives noted that the gang’s actions caused significant financial losses to businesses and endangered public safety.

During sentencing, the presiding judge condemned the group’s disregard for the law and the emotional harm inflicted on victims. He stressed that the lengthy jail terms should serve as a deterrent to others considering similar criminal enterprises. The convicted individuals will serve their sentences in various UK correctional facilities.
