The Nigerian Air Force has launched precision airstrikes that wiped out a key terrorist base located in the Sauri camp area of Tsafe Local Government in Zamfara State.

In a statement released on Saturday via X, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed that the operation was executed on November 14, 2025, by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

Ejodame explained that the assault was carried out following “extensive intelligence and surveillance efforts” which revealed heightened terrorist activity and a cache of rustled livestock hidden in an elevated hideout serving both as a defensive position and a logistics centre.

According to the statement, the Air Component conducted “multiple, well-coordinated strike runs” on the identified locations, scoring direct hits that forced surviving terrorists to scatter into nearby bushes, where they were tracked and neutralised.

Ejodame noted that the mission led to the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of vital structures and supply points, significantly weakening the group’s operational strength in the region.

He also quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, as reaffirming the Force’s commitment to relentless counterterrorism operations, vowing that the NAF would “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”

The NAF added that the success of the strike reflects the continued determination of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to deny terrorists refuge and bolster security across Zamfara, supporting broader national efforts to restore enduring peace in the North West.

This follows earlier NAF airstrikes conducted on November 10 targeting terrorist and bandit enclaves in Kwara, Borno, Katsina, and other northern states, including ISWAP positions in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, Borno State; bandit camps in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, Kwara State; and Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
