Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has signed the state’s 2026 appropriation bill totaling ₦705 billion into law, promising full implementation and consolidation of his administration’s developmental achievements.

Adeleke signed the budget on Monday in the presence of Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi; Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun; Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye; Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, and members of the State Executive Council.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said the 2026 fiscal plan is designed to consolidate ongoing projects and expand service delivery in line with his administration’s five-point agenda.

He described the budget as significant, noting that it marks the final year of his first term and represents a renewed commitment to completing ongoing projects while initiating new ones for the benefit of residents. Adeleke highlighted achievements recorded in previous budgets, including completion of abandoned projects, payment of pension and salary arrears, workers’ welfare improvements, and major investments in infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, energy, and climate initiatives.

According to him, the 2026 budget is both a consolidation framework and an election-year roadmap aimed at sustaining development without allowing governance to suffer. He assured that his administration would ensure strict adherence to budget timelines, urging ministries, departments, and agencies to prioritise execution.

“We promise Osun people full implementation of the new Appropriation Act. We will continue to focus on people’s welfare and complete all ongoing projects and programmes,” Adeleke stated.

The governor expressed confidence that his administration’s mandate would be renewed, while reaffirming commitment to continuity and sustainable governance across the state.
