Abuja Court Rules Against Anyanwu in PDP National Secretary Case

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a suit filed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu seeking official recognition as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The case was struck out after it emerged that Anyanwu’s tenure in the party office had already expired, rendering the legal action irrelevant. His counsel informed the court that the matter had been overtaken by events, leading to its dismissal without any penalties imposed on either party.

The ruling effectively ends Anyanwu’s attempt to reclaim the position amid ongoing leadership disagreements within the PDP. The dispute over the National Secretary role has been part of a broader internal struggle within the party, with rival factions contesting control of key national offices.

The court’s decision adds another layer to the PDP’s internal crisis as the party continues to grapple with unresolved leadership and structural challenges ahead of future political engagements.
