Authorities are investigating a suspected child trafficking operation following the disappearance of a three-year-old boy from a Lagos neighborhood, with multiple suspects now in custody.

According to family members, the child went missing while playing close to his home, triggering a frantic search by relatives and residents in the area. The case was reported to the police the same day, and community members began sharing the child’s details widely to aid recovery efforts.

Investigators later reviewed nearby security camera footage that allegedly showed a familiar face leading the boy away shortly before he vanished. The individual was arrested and questioned, leading officers to additional suspects believed to be part of a small network.

Preliminary findings suggest the child may have been moved out of Lagos shortly after the incident as part of an illegal sale arrangement. A joint search effort involving officers across state lines has since been launched to trace the child’s whereabouts.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and they are working to locate the boy and uncover the full scope of the suspected trafficking ring. Family members have urged authorities to intensify efforts to ensure the child is found and safely returned.
