APC Says Formal Welcome for Fubara Will Happen When Timing Is Right

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified why Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has not yet received an official welcome into the party. Party leaders explained that the decision is deliberate, aimed at coordinating the reception with political, cultural, and logistical considerations to ensure it is smooth and inclusive.

APC insiders stressed that Fubara’s influence within the party is recognised and that the delay is not a reflection of internal disagreements. The leadership noted that careful planning is necessary to align the event with ongoing preparations for party activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Fubara joined the APC last year after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party, a move that reshaped the political dynamics in Rivers State. While his defection has stirred debates among local politicians, the party maintains that he is fully integrated into APC structures.

Officials said the formal reception will be scheduled at a suitable time, allowing the party to showcase unity and coordinate with various stakeholders to maximise its impact.
