Bayelsa Monarchs Call for Transparent Resolution in Diezani Legal Matter

Traditional rulers from communities in Bayelsa State have called for a clear and just conclusion to the legal proceedings involving former Petroleum Resources Minister Diezani Alison‑Madueke. They expressed concern that over a decade of investigations and public scrutiny has left the matter unresolved.

At a briefing in Yenagoa, the leaders described the prolonged uncertainty as a burden for both the former minister and her community. They noted that despite extensive probes, Alison‑Madueke has never been convicted in Nigeria.

The chiefs highlighted her service at the highest levels of government and praised her contributions to regional and national development. They said the ongoing legal limbo undermines respect for the rule of law and affects the reputation of individuals and communities.

Bayelsa’s traditional rulers emphasized that their call is motivated by a desire to see justice served fairly. They urged authorities to ensure a prompt and transparent resolution that upholds legal standards and restores public confidence in the system.
