Alex Otti Orders Immediate Relief for Families After Deadly Traders’ Road Crash

Alex Otti has expressed deep sorrow over a fatal road incident involving a group of traders from Umuahia who were returning from a traditional wedding event in Enugu. The accident claimed multiple lives and left several others injured, throwing affected communities into mourning.

The governor described the tragedy as heartbreaking, noting that the scale of the loss has deeply touched the state. He lamented that the crash occurred outside areas where Abia emergency teams could respond quickly.

Following preliminary reports, the governor ordered the state ministry responsible for social welfare and poverty reduction to immediately reach out to bereaved families and injured survivors to assess their needs and begin support arrangements.

He also urged motorists to follow traffic regulations, avoid reckless driving, and respect speed limits, stressing that safer road behavior is necessary to prevent further loss of life. The state government extended condolences to grieving relatives and offered prayers for the departed.
