Bauchi State Reduces Civil Servants’ Working Hours for Ramadan

Bauchi State has announced a reduction in official working hours for civil servants to allow them more time to observe religious practices during the ongoing Ramadan period. The state government directed that public workers finish their duties earlier than usual throughout the holy month.

Under the new schedule, employees are expected to end their workday by mid‑afternoon on most weekdays, while the regular shorter closing time on Fridays remains unchanged. The move aims to give civil servants extra time for prayers, fasting preparations, and other Ramadan-related activities.

Officials also encouraged workers to use the additional hours to reflect, pray, and engage in activities that promote peace and development within Bauchi State and the country.

The adjusted working hours will remain in effect for the entirety of the 2026 Ramadan period, ensuring that employees can balance their professional responsibilities with religious observance.
