Journalists Raise Alarm Over Cattle Roaming in Abia Capital

The Nigeria Union of Journalists in Abia State has voiced concern over the increasing movement of cattle along major roads in Umuahia, urging authorities to take immediate action.

The union highlighted that the presence of livestock within the city is causing environmental issues, as animal waste continues to deface streets and public areas, affecting sanitation and the overall outlook of the capital.

It also warned that the situation poses safety risks to both residents and motorists, as the animals often obstruct traffic and create avoidable hazards on busy roads.

The group called on relevant agencies in Abia State to enforce regulations and implement lasting solutions, including proper livestock control measures, to maintain order and improve public hygiene.
