The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored a crucial section of the national grid, bringing the 330‑kilovolt Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2 back into service. The move is expected to ease power fluctuations and improve electricity reliability in several northern states.

Engineers completed urgent maintenance and technical upgrades on the line, which had been out of service for a period, affecting bulk power delivery. With both circuits now operational, electricity can flow more efficiently from generation points to distribution networks.

The restored line strengthens connections to the Kaduna and surrounding regions, helping reduce the risk of outages and enabling smoother distribution of electricity to homes and businesses. TCN officials said the repairs were part of ongoing efforts to modernise the transmission network and respond quickly to system faults.

Officials thanked communities and electricity customers for their patience during the downtime, noting that consistent investment in maintenance and infrastructure is key to building a more reliable and resilient power grid across Nigeria.
