The upcoming seventh edition of the Nigeria Cricket Federation National Under‑17 Championships is set to take place from March 10 to 15 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Oval in Abuja, bringing together young boys and girls from across the country to compete in Nigeria’s biggest age‑grade cricket event.

Across the six geopolitical zones, zonal qualifiers have already concluded, with top players selected to represent their regions in the national finals. These qualifiers have identified emerging talent and set the stage for intense competition in the nation’s capital.

Organisers and cricket officials say the tournament is a key part of developing the future of Nigerian cricket, with many current senior national team members having first made their mark in this championship. Young athletes see this event as an opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially earn spots on higher‑level teams.

The week‑long competition aims not only to crown champions in both boys’ and girls’ categories but also to strengthen the foundation of cricket talent in Nigeria and West Africa. Officials and fans alike are anticipating spirited matches and unforgettable moments as the U‑17 stars take centre stage.
