Rev. Ukpai, who died at 80, was a prominent evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association. His ministry impacted thousands through religious teachings, outreach programs, and humanitarian efforts across Nigeria and beyond.

The state’s Commissioner for Information confirmed the burial will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Authorities said the ceremony will not only pay tribute to Ukpai’s religious contributions but also highlight his role in promoting peace, education, and social development in Abia State.

In addition to the funeral arrangements, the government announced plans to continue its initiatives in improving infrastructure and social welfare programs in the region, reflecting the values championed by the late cleric.
