Senator Natasha Akpoti‑Uduaghan has criticised Nigeria’s Defence Minister, General Christopher Musa, following a deadly attack in the Angwan Rukuba area of Jos, Plateau State. The lawmaker said the incident highlights the broader problem of insecurity affecting ordinary Nigerians.

The March 27 attack, which reportedly claimed dozens of lives, prompted the senator to publicly accuse the defence leadership of failing to protect citizens despite past assurances. “Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected,” Akpoti‑Uduaghan said.

In a strongly worded message to the minister, she called for swift and effective measures to improve security nationwide. She warned that condolences and explanations are no longer enough and urged the minister to either deliver results or step aside. “Prove now you are different and secure lives, or step aside,” she said.

Her remarks come amid growing public frustration over rising violence in parts of the country, where many feel left vulnerable despite repeated attacks and limited visible improvement in safety measures.
