Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has raised alarms over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, urging the government to take immediate and effective measures to protect citizens. He warned that recent attacks across several states show that current policies are failing to curb violence.

Obi noted that residents in Plateau, Nasarawa, Zamfara, and Borno are facing frequent attacks, abductions, and destruction of property, which have left many families displaced. He stressed that assurances from leadership are not enough and called for visible action to restore safety and confidence in communities.

Highlighting the human cost of insecurity, Obi also encouraged authorities to strengthen preventive measures, improve law enforcement coordination, and prioritize the protection of vulnerable populations. He said that without urgent intervention, public frustration and suffering will continue to grow.
