Ghana’s national football team has appointed experienced Portuguese tactician Carlos Queiroz as its new head coach in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The decision comes just months before the tournament, with the Ghana Football Association moving quickly to secure a seasoned manager to lead the Black Stars on the global stage.

Queiroz, who has previously handled several national teams and has extensive World Cup experience, is expected to take immediate charge of the squad’s preparations, including upcoming friendly matches and tactical rebuilding.

The appointment follows recent changes in the team’s technical setup as Ghana seeks stability and improved performance ahead of its fifth World Cup appearance.

Officials believe the veteran coach’s international experience and tournament pedigree will help strengthen the squad’s competitiveness against top opposition in the competition.
