The United Nations has reiterated its backing for initiatives led by Nigerians in addressing the country’s development and humanitarian challenges.
The global body emphasized that locally designed and implemented strategies remain essential for achieving lasting progress, particularly in communities affected by insecurity, displacement, and poverty.
UN officials noted that strengthening national capacity and supporting domestic institutions will remain a key part of their engagement in Nigeria, especially as the country works to improve response systems and expand access to basic services.
They also highlighted ongoing collaboration with Nigerian authorities and partners, stressing the importance of shared responsibility in tackling social and economic pressures across the country.
According to the UN, greater emphasis on local leadership and innovation will help ensure that interventions are more effective, sustainable, and better suited to the realities on the ground.
