Wike Challenges ADC to Back Claims Over Abuja Convention Venue Dispute

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it was obstructed from using Eagle Square for its national convention.

Wike stated that the administration did not receive any official request from the party seeking approval to book the venue, stressing that no application was processed or rejected.

He explained that access to public facilities in the FCT is guided by clear administrative procedures, which require interested groups to submit formal requests and fulfill necessary conditions before approval is granted.

According to him, the allegation that the government blocked the party’s plans is misleading, adding that Eagle Square has consistently been made available for lawful and properly organised events.

The minister’s response follows complaints from the ADC regarding challenges it reportedly faced in securing a location for its scheduled political gathering in Abuja.
