The Niger Delta Development Commission has dismissed allegations suggesting that employment opportunities and development projects were unfairly channelled to a specific political constituency.

Responding to the accusations, the commission described the claims as misleading and lacking factual basis. Officials insisted that its programmes and project allocations follow established procedures designed to ensure fairness across all states in the Niger Delta region.

The agency emphasized that decisions regarding contracts, job placements, and project siting are guided by due process and developmental priorities rather than political influence. It also maintained that its operations are subject to oversight mechanisms aimed at promoting transparency and accountability.

According to the commission, its mandate remains focused on addressing infrastructure deficits and improving living conditions in oil-producing communities. It warned against the spread of unverified reports, stating that such narratives could undermine public confidence in ongoing development efforts.

The response comes amid growing public scrutiny over how intervention funds and opportunities are distributed within the region, with the commission reiterating its commitment to equitable service delivery.
