A coalition of football supporters in Nigeria has announced plans to stage a major protest in Abuja, expressing frustration over what they describe as deep-rooted problems within the Nigeria Football Federation.

Operating under a reform-driven platform, the group says it intends to rally fans across the country to demand sweeping changes in how the sport is managed. According to the organisers, years of alleged mismanagement, lack of accountability, and poor leadership decisions have contributed to the steady decline of domestic football.

The protesters argue that the current system has failed to develop the local league, weakened grassroots structures, and diminished Nigeria’s reputation in the global football scene. They insist that urgent intervention is needed to restore credibility and rebuild confidence among players, fans, and stakeholders.

Beyond the Abuja demonstration, the movement is also encouraging supporters nationwide to join coordinated actions aimed at pressuring authorities into implementing reforms. The organisers say their goal is not just protest, but a complete overhaul that will reposition Nigerian football for sustainable growth.

This latest development adds to growing discontent within the football community, where critics have repeatedly raised concerns about governance issues affecting the sport’s progress in the country.
