Hon. Obi Aguocha, member representing Umuahia North South and Ikwuano Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has welcomed the recent judgement of the Court of Appeal dismissing the appeal filed by Julius Abure over the leadership dispute within the Labour Party.

Reacting to the verdict, Aguocha described the ruling as a triumph for internal democracy and a defining moment in the ongoing effort to reposition the party as a credible political alternative for Nigerians.

He noted that the judgement reinforces confidence in the nation’s judicial system, describing it as the last hope of the common man and the ultimate defender of truth. According to him, the judiciary has once again proven its ability to safeguard political institutions from what he termed administrative arbitrariness and leadership uncertainty.

The federal lawmaker also paid glowing tribute to the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, commending his courage and firmness throughout the leadership crisis that rocked the party.

Aguocha stated that Governor Otti’s role in stabilizing the party structure demonstrated visionary leadership, adding that his commitment ensured the continuity of the party’s grassroots driven “Mama, Papa, Pikin” political movement as a platform for national transformation.

He further expressed appreciation to fellow National Assembly members and State Assembly legislators elected on the platform of the Labour Party who remained loyal during the period of uncertainty. He praised their resilience and refusal to abandon the mandate entrusted to them by the electorate, describing their stance as a reflection of dedication to the ideals of a new Nigeria.

Calling for broader participation, Aguocha urged Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to join the Labour Party, emphasizing that the party remains open to all citizens committed to strengthening democracy and advancing good governance.

He concluded that collective effort is essential in building a formidable political platform capable of representing the aspirations of Nigerians and steering the country towards sustainable progress.
