Nigeria’s Super Falcons have recorded a slight improvement in the latest FIFA women’s world rankings, moving up one spot in the global standings.
The updated list shows the Nigerian women’s national team rising from 37th to 36th position, keeping them as Africa’s highest-ranked side despite a mixed run of recent performances.
Although the team’s overall points have seen a small decline compared to previous updates, their position improved due to shifts in the rankings of other national teams within the same bracket.
Nigeria’s standing remains strengthened by their status as continental leaders, staying ahead of rivals such as South Africa, Ghana, and Morocco in the African hierarchy.
At the global level, Spain continue to occupy the top spot, followed by the United States, while England, Germany, and Japan complete the top five.
The Super Falcons’ latest ranking reflects both their historical consistency on the continent and the competitive nature of women’s international football, where small changes in results can impact positions significantly.
