Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has come to the defence of his teammate following the club’s disappointing exit from the Turkish Cup, urging supporters to show understanding instead of criticism.

The Nigerian striker stood up for the goalkeeper after mistakes contributed to Galatasaray’s 2-0 defeat in the quarter-final, a result that ended their run in the competition. The errors drew heavy reactions from sections of fans after the final whistle, with the player visibly emotional on the pitch.

Osimhen stressed the importance of unity within the squad, reminding supporters that football is a collective game where responsibility is shared among all players. He called for encouragement rather than blame, especially during difficult moments.

The striker’s intervention was seen as a gesture of leadership and solidarity, as he tried to lift team morale following the setback. Teammates also rallied around the goalkeeper in the aftermath, offering support inside the dressing room.

Despite the cup disappointment, Galatasaray are expected to shift focus back to their league campaign as they aim to recover and maintain their push for domestic success.
