A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia State, taking a decisive step by purchasing the party’s nomination form ahead of other aspirants.
Kalu’s move, widely regarded as strategic and symbolic, positions him as the first aspirant within the APC in Abia State to signal official interest in the forthcoming primaries. Political observers note that such an early declaration is often aimed at consolidating grassroots support and demonstrating preparedness for the intense political process ahead.
Speaking shortly after completing the process, Kalu described his action as a “valiant step” underscoring his unwavering commitment to offering purposeful leadership to the people of Abia State.
