Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a decisive step toward a potential second term in office, as nomination and expression of interest forms under the All Progressives Congress were obtained on his behalf ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The forms were collected by James Faleke, who stated that the move reflects a groundswell of support from numerous pro-Tinubu groups operating within the ruling party. According to him, the initiative was jointly funded by loyalists seeking to rally nationwide backing for the president’s continued leadership.
Supporters argue that the president’s first term has delivered notable progress in key areas of governance, and believe a renewed mandate would allow for further consolidation of ongoing reforms and development programmes.
The development is expected to intensify early political alignments within the APC, as party stakeholders begin positioning ahead of what could become a highly competitive 2027 election cycle.
