Umuahia, Abia State — The Member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency, Honourable Chinasa Anthony, has commended the successful conduct of the Labour Party National Elective Convention held in Umuahia, describing it as a defining moment for internal democracy and party unity.
Reacting shortly after the convention, Honourable Anthony praised the peaceful and well organised exercise, noting that it reflects the growing strength and maturity of the Labour Party as a formidable political force in Nigeria.
He also lauded the leadership style of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, describing it as exemplary and instrumental to the successful hosting of the national event. According to him, Governor Otti’s commitment to good governance and political inclusiveness has continued to position Abia as a reference point for democratic progress.
“The convention is not just a routine political gathering but a strong statement of unity, transparency and shared vision for a better Nigeria,” Anthony stated. “It clearly demonstrates that the Labour Party is ready to deepen democratic values and provide credible leadership across all levels.”
The lawmaker congratulated the newly elected National Chairman of the party, Nenadi Esther Usman, alongside the National Secretary, Iheanacho Obioma, and 32 other officials who emerged from the convention.
He expressed confidence in the new leadership, urging them to build on the party’s achievements and sustain the trust reposed in them by members nationwide.
Honourable Anthony further called on party faithful to remain united and committed to the ideals of the Labour Party, stressing that collective effort remains key to achieving lasting political transformation in the country.
The Labour Party National Elective Convention, which attracted delegates and stakeholders from across Nigeria, culminated in the emergence of Senator Nenadi Esther Usman as National Chairman, Hon. Iheanacho Obioma as National Secretary, alongside other national officers to steer the affairs of the party.
