The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued a warning to domestic airlines following increasing reports of unsatisfactory passenger experiences during flight operations across the country.

The regulator expressed concern over repeated incidents involving delayed flights, cancellations, and inadequate handling of affected passengers, particularly in terms of communication and support.

According to the NCAA, some airlines have failed to properly inform travellers or provide required care when operations are disrupted, leading to frustration and avoidable inconvenience for passengers.

The authority reminded operators that aviation guidelines clearly outline their obligations to passengers, including timely updates and basic assistance during disruptions.

It stressed that compliance with these standards is not optional, adding that enforcement measures will be applied where airlines fall short of expected service delivery.

The NCAA further stated that it will continue to monitor airline operations closely in order to protect passenger rights and improve service quality within Nigeria’s aviation sector.
