Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and APC candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia North & South Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji, has expressed deep gratitude to God, his supporters, family members, and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress following his victory in the party’s primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji, who emerged victorious across the constituency, described the outcome of the primary as a collective victory for unity, loyalty, and the continued belief of the people in purposeful leadership.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, the former Speaker thanked God for preserving his life and guiding him through his political journey, noting that divine grace has remained the foundation of his successes over the years.
He also paid special tribute to his parents for their sacrifices, upbringing, and unwavering support, stating that their values and prayers continue to shape his life and public service.
According to him, “First and foremost, I thank God Almighty for keeping me alive and strong through the years. I also specially appreciate my parents for everything they invested in me. Their prayers, sacrifices, and guidance made this journey possible.”
Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji further appreciated the leadership of the APC in Abia State for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent primary process, while also commending party faithful and supporters across Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South for standing firmly with him.
“We appreciate the leadership of the APC in Abia for their role and commitment to internal democracy. I also thank our supporters and delegates who believed in our vision,” he stated.
The APC candidate assured constituents that his campaign would focus on direct engagement with the people, promising to demonstrate a new style of representation anchored on inclusiveness, development, and responsible leadership.
“We are going to walk by telling the people that we can do things differently. Leadership must be about service and results,” he added.
Speaking on national politics, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji emphasized the need for fairness and natural justice in the country’s political arrangement, noting that the Southern region deserves to complete its tenure at the presidency.
“Most importantly, I am from the South, and the President of Nigeria is from the South. By natural justice, that position deserves a tenure,” he said.
Supporters of the former Speaker have continued to celebrate his emergence, describing it as a major boost for the APC in the federal constituency ahead of the 2027 elections.
