Abia North Labour Party Senatorial Candidate, Chief David Ogba Onuoha, has declared that the future of the Labour Party in Abia State depends heavily on unity, discipline, and collective responsibility among party leaders and members.
Chief Onuoha made the declaration during the Abia Labour Party Leaders and Stakeholders Extraordinary Meeting,
According to him, the Governor’s leadership style has brought a fresh political culture to Abia State, adding that the visible transformation across different sectors has strengthened the faith of the people in the Labour Party administration.
He maintained that Governor Otti’s achievements within a short period have not only silenced critics but have equally positioned the Labour Party as the dominant political force in Abia State.
He commended the Abia State Labour Party leadership for sustaining the structure and vision of the party, insisting that the moment has finally come for the Labour Party to firmly take root in Abia and redefine political leadership in the state.
The party stalwart also aligned himself with the submissions of the State Chairman of the party, particularly on the need to deliberately reduce the financial pressure on Governor Otti through stronger participation, mobilization, and support from party leaders and stakeholders at all levels.
According to him, mobility for party operations, conflict resolution mechanisms, aggressive membership drive, party cohesion, and coordinated teamwork must now become top priorities if the party hopes to remain dominant and united.
Chief Onuoha warned against internal rivalry, unhealthy competition, and unnecessary division within the party, stressing that Labour Party members must speak with one voice and move with one direction.
He noted that when the public sees harmony, discipline, and sincerity within a political party, confidence naturally grows beyond the traditional electorate, attracting more supporters and strengthening the credibility of the movement.
“No opposition party can defeat us if we do not defeat ourselves,” he declared, adding that sincerity, loyalty, and mutual respect must remain the foundation of the Labour Party in Abia State.
He further charged party leaders to rise above personal interests and protect the larger vision of the party, warning that political victories can only be sustained when members place unity above ego and ambition.
Bourdex renewed calls for stronger grassroots engagement, strategic coordination among stakeholders, and the building of a formidable political structure capable of sustaining the achievements of the Labour Party administration in Abia State
