ISUIKWUATO, July 8, 2025 — The member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, has reaffirmed his commitment to expanding the reach of his constituency’s market development initiative, promising that more communities will benefit from the next phase of the Market Projects Scheme.

Hon. Ogah made the statement while addressing newsmen, noting that the initiative, which has already transformed several local markets, will be extended to cover more rural areas in its upcoming rollout.

“Our Market Projects Scheme is not just about building stalls or structures, it is about stimulating the local economy, empowering our traders, and restoring the dignity of our marketplaces. I want to assure our people that in the next phase, more communities across Isuikwuato and Umunneochi will be captured,” he stated.

Widely celebrated for his development-focused leadership, Hon. Ogah emphasized the critical role of vibrant, well-structured marketplaces in improving local economies and supporting grassroots commerce, especially for women and small-scale traders.

“We have seen how a single market project can transform a community, increase trade volume, create jobs, and even reduce crime. That’s why we are not slowing down. Our goal is to touch every ward and bring economic life closer to the people,” he added.

The current phase of the Market Projects Scheme includes the construction and rehabilitation of modern market stalls, borehole facilities, lock-up shops, and drainage systems in selected communities.

Several beneficiaries in communities have already begun to experience a boost in local commerce, with many lauding Hon. Ogah’s inclusive leadership and responsiveness to grassroots needs.

Community leader Chief Amadi Eze described the initiative as “a blessing that has brought dignity back to local trade.”

As the next phase is being planned, Hon. Ogah revealed that the scheme would be guided by needs assessments, stakeholder engagements, and fairness, to ensure that no community is left out based on political leaning or location.

The announcement has sparked renewed hope among rural dwellers and market operators, many of whom say they now feel seen and supported by their representative in Abuja.

Hon. Amobi Ogah’s market scheme is part of a broader development vision that includes infrastructure, education, water supply, youth empowerment, and job creation, all tailored toward sustainable progress in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi.

“Representation must translate to development,” Hon. Ogah concluded. “And that’s what we are here to deliver.”
