Tinubu Misled by Sycophants, APC Chieftain Adamu Garba Alleges

Adamu Garba, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has raised concerns that President Bola Tinubu is being misled by praise singers within his inner circle, who are painting a false picture of stability within the party and the country.

Speaking during an appearance on Politics Today, a television programme aired on Tuesday, Garba warned that sycophancy is preventing the president from seeing the true state of affairs in Nigeria and within the APC, particularly in the aftermath of the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman.

Garba, a former presidential aspirant, also took aim at the newly formed opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing them as “vultures” seeking to exploit the APC’s internal crisis.

“They hope for our loss, and that is why we need to be serious. We need to be very sincere with ourselves and ensure that the leadership of the party is honest, open to criticism, and resistant to flattery and sycophancy. I believe there are too many sycophants around the president. People are telling him things are okay – but things are not okay,” Garba warned.

He further noted that the decline in APC support across northern Nigeria was inevitable following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, whose absence has created a leadership vacuum in the region.
