WAFCON 2024: Alozie Celebrates Win, Sends Prayers to Injured South African Star

Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie, has celebrated Nigeria’s 2-1 semi-final victory over South Africa in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and extended prayers for South African midfielder Gabriela Salgado, who suffered a serious injury during the match.

Alozie, who scored one of Nigeria’s goals alongside Rasheedat Ajibade, shared her excitement in a post on social media after the match, saying: “COUNT IT!!!!! See you in the finals.”

The Super Falcons will now face hosts Morocco in the WAFCON final on Saturday, July 26, while Ghana, who lost to Morocco in the other semi-final, will battle defending champions South Africa for third place.

South Africa entered the tournament as the reigning WAFCON champions, having won the previous edition.
