Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians, urging them not to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. According to Amaechi, a second term for Tinubu would be disastrous, stating that “Nigerians would be dead and buried” if he wins again.
Speaking to members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Rivers State, Amaechi criticized the state’s history of electoral malpractice and urged party members to resist those who manipulate election results.
Amaechi encouraged ADC members to begin mobilizing early by registering voters across local government areas and wards. “Our state has become infamous for rewriting results, and that must stop,” he declared, emphasizing that the perception of pre-written outcomes often discourages voter turnout.
He called on the coalition to take active steps in preparing for 2027, stating, “We must rally people to vote and change the current government, or risk dying of hunger.”
Amaechi concluded by questioning the current state of the country under Tinubu’s leadership, asking, “If Nigerians are already suffering in his first term, what will happen in the second? We won’t survive it.”
